Google Photos is available for the web and Android. Google Photos is a cloud-based photo and video storage service developed by Google. It allows users to back up and store their media files securely in the cloud, making them accessible from various devices with an internet connection.

How to upload photos from PC or google drive or Automatically backup from PC into Google photos?

• Drag and Drop: Select the files want to upload and drag in web page.
• Click Upload Button:
  • Upload from Computer
  • Upload from Google drive
  • Automatically upload from computer folder

Ignore desired folder to not backup the photos and videos

Problem:

Solution-1: Create a file with name .nomedia inside the desired folder, all the files will be ignored by photos.

Solution-2: Use third party android app to transfer all the screenshot or other files from one folder to another folder automatically. Auto File Transfer | File change detection is the android app, can be done this job automatically and free for one job and for more job you need to purchase.

Rename Photos or Video

Unfortunately the this app not support editing photos or videos. If you want rename the photos or videos you need to download the file and rename then need to upload it again in photos. (Note: To avoid duplicate files need to delete permanently after you download from Photos.

Can Google photos automatically add to album based on folder name?

The answer is no, until now (2022-Mar-22) there is no feature like automatically create album name based on folder name while photos upload. I will be update in this post in future.

Duplicate File Upload

• Google Photos does not manage the pictures by file name.
• Photos create a unique ID for every picture with its own calculation method and attach it to the file on the cloud, so Photos can consider even the picture compressed after uploading as same picture as original size picture in the device.
• When user tries to upload the picture with same ID as existing in the cloud, Google Photos will not accept it.
• Some pictures shared via SNS (come from a different resource) might be different in size from the original, or missing EXIF ​​information.
• For such pictures, the ID created by Photos should be different from the ID of the original picture. 
• Although they look the same pictures, they are completely different digital files.
• So, it’s a mistake to make it a target of uploading to  Google Photos.
• If you have truly duplicate pictures in the Google Photos, those may have different ID even if it seems a same size and viewing.
• If those have been uploaded by High quality setting, you can see the unique ID given by Photos in the EXIF after downloading them to your PC.
• If those have been uploaded by Original quality setting, you can notice the difference by hash value calculated with PC after downloading them to your PC.

Sync with Google Drive or other device

New photos and videos from Drive won’t automatically show in Photos. Similarly, new photos and videos in Photos will not be added to the Photos folder in Drive. Photos and videos you delete in Drive will not be removed from Photos. Similarly, items you delete in Photos will not be removed from Drive. This change is designed to help prevent accidental deletion of items across products.

View Picasa or Google Photos Album

• You can access your Picasa Web Albums data, including your tags, captions, and comments, at the Album Archive.

How to viewing google photos Not in an Album

• There is no feature available to see the photos not in album, You can achieve this by manual process. Hope its wont be good for large size of operation. for more view this link

Download Google Photos

• Method-1: Download your photos using Google Photos Site click download button.
• Method-2: Download your photos using Google Takeout Site Select your desired album and take out your data.

View Edited Date with time stamp and Map Location in Google Photos

• Download your photo’s data from Google takeout Site. Inside each of your edited photos have .json file, That file contains those information. For example if you added or updated the timestamp and map location of IMG20220301182915.jpg file, the same file name with json file will be created as IMG20220301182915.jpg.json.
